Philip Leifeld is Professor of Comparative Politics at the University of Essex and was previously Professor of Research Methods at the University of Glasgow. His research interests include the study of policy debates and policy processes, including interest groups, epistemic communities, and legislative decision making, using network analysis. He also contributes to methodological development on inferential network analysis and is the author of several software packages, including Discourse Network Analyzer, rDNA, xergm, btergm, and texreg. His work has appeared in political science and public administration journals, such as the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, as well as technical outlets like the Journal of Statistical Software, Physica A, and Network Science.
